BARON F HUSCHKE VON HANSTEIN
Consider this. Porsche's small size is a very important safety factor. You
are held snugly in place, well protected from harm by the body around
you. It's unsurpassed durability, plus its smooth contours ( drop shape )
result in greater safety when misfortune strikes. Naturally the hard top
models afford greater protection than the open car. But open or closed,
Porsche leads the way in providing protection for driver and passenger.
Italy:
In 1952 the popular and well known sport car driver
Helmut Polensky overturned on a sharp turn in the famous
Mille Miglia. The car came to rest with its wheels in the
air. Spectators righted the car and Polensky and his partner
continued uninjured. After the race the car returned to
Germany under its own power for repairs. So sturdy is
Porsche's body construction that Polensky was able to open
and close both doors after the accident
Germany:
At the Nurburgring in 1953 Baron Richard von Frankenberg
broke away on a curve and plunged down a steep
embankment rolling over three times. Although his car
was too badly damaged to continue the race von Frankenberg
emerged unscathed and returned on foot to the pits.
Super Steel Products Company
Dear Mr. Porsche
My son, William Belau, purchased a new Super 1500 White Roadster in December, 1954
Engine No. 20045, in Miami, Florida. He has about 6000 miles recorded.
Last month on his way north from Florida he turned too quickly on a bad curve,
and the car rolled over several times. We are grateful to say that my son remained
in the bottom of the car and was unhurt. The motor was still running when
the car came to a stop, with the wheels in the air.
I cannot tell you how much we appreciate the perfectly engineered and well made
construction of this car as it held together without shifting of the body, result-
ing in no injury to the driver. This certainly is a wonderful safety factor.
The problem now is to know what to do. The body is pretty well damaged, but every-
thing else seems to be in good order.
My son, Bill, felt very bad about damaging his Porsche as he was very proud of it,
He selected the Porsche in preference to any American car, so I hope you can find
some way to help us out
Thanking you and awaiting you reply, I am
Yours, very truly,
Walter Beleu
