I don't subscribe to the theory that people buy boring grey scale vehicles because that's all that's offered. I went car shopping with my 80 something Dad about 10 years ago. He wanted to treat himself to a new Audi. Predictably most cars in inventory were white, black, or grey but there was a very nice A3 in the showroom in Scuba Blue. Beautiful. He wanted to buy an A4 in that color. The dealer searched and found one at a store several hundred miles away and had it trucked in. The salesman said it was one of only two in that color in the entire state of New York. Sadly my Dad is no longer with us, but I still have the Audi. The paint has held up beautifully despite the car having never been garaged and it gets lots of compliments.
