Duetto 1600.

Never had a boat tailed Spider before and this one caught my eye. No USA sellers were offering it but I found a seller in China pricing them at $53 plus $25 shipping (tariffs included). My overall impression is that it was a good value for the money even with the issues in the one I received described below. It comes with a removable soft top but I think it looks better without it.

Issues with mine:

1. The lollipop reflector on the left rear bumper either fell off or was never installed when this example was made (see rear view photo showing one on the other side). It was present on the 1:1s made for certain countries like the USA. I read that some USA 1:1 owners thought it was ugly so they removed it and filled in the bumper hole. Not sure whether I'm going to fabricate one or remove the other one. Not worth the trouble to me to request a return. That thing hanging underneath the right rear bumper is a backup light that Alfa had no better place for. It was only on one side of the 1:1 from what I've seen.

2. The hood looks a little out of alignment or slightly bent. Hoods on some of AA's $300 composite Goldfinger DB5s were out of alignment as well so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. :-)

As far as the color, I wanted red like Dustin Hoffman’s car from “The Graduate” film but those were sold out in most places and many times more expensive from the few places that still had one so I opted for light blue. After receiving it I decided I should have spent more for the red and ordered one because I'm a sucker for certain movie cars. :-)
