cars and many people opted for them instead of the more expensive Exotos even though the first release had the steering wheel on the wrong side. That was later corrected.
If I recall correctly, the SC's engine compartments were not that bad compared to the Exotos. One place SC fell short was the lack of hood pin posts and cables. While Exoto did have that detail, the circular base of the hood pin posts often came loose. The cables were often very hard to push back into the hood pin posts if removed.
I think Exoto did a better job on the paint color for the copper LM cars and the blue Sebring car.
Bottom line is that you can still find Shelby Collectibles for under $100 US but Exoto Mark IIs are no where near that price. I still blame the movie for part of that. :-)
Exoto also had a line of Standox paint wild fantasy colors that many on this board seemed to despise but I'll confess to buying a few. :-) Including this one I bought from Craig.
