I was not planning on making this a race car (real or imagined) but I kind of agree that the low profile tires might be too much of a change and the wire wheels do look somehow incongruent on an American car with rear fender skirts - which I am considering removing. Got to see what it looks like with early 60's mag wheels like Ulf suggested and I had actually already ordered.

I've also got bucket seats and a new engine on the way.
