period would be 1953 to 1967. I like watching races where the cars look as good as they perform and that period is the sweet spot for me. Viewing old films of Le Mans and other sport car events from that period gives me more pleasure than watching modern race cars whose bodies often look freakish to me because of the extreme focus on aerodynamics.

Secondly, my two favorite race car marques are Ferrari and Jaguar and both had good results then. After Ford and Porsche started dominating the prototype racing category it became less exciting for me.
