#464825 Fangio's one of one Jaguar C-type. I sold the dark green
1953 Le Mans winning C-type over a decade ago because very dark cars didn't display well on my shelves. AA's bronze version without a livery always intrigued me so I did some research on the real car before deciding on a replacement for the C-type that I sold.
According to what I found only one came from the factory in that color and it was originally purchased by Fangio. Accounts differ on what happened after he paid for it but one researcher indicated Fangio likely bought it to sell to another Argentinian because he couldn't find any credible evidence of Fangio ever driving it. Import rules were tight back then so you needed influence to bring a car like that into Argentina and Fangio definitely had influence. The car ran in the Buenos Aries 1000km race twice but was a DNF both times. Jose Millet was one of the drivers in both of those races.
After reading that the bronze C-type was a one-of-one color and had a interesting history I decided to find the AA model. Not sure yet whether I'll put a race livery on it.
For those interested in the 1-1 here's a video of the bronze car participating in the 2013 Mille Miglia recreation event co-driven by Chris Harris. In one scene they pass David Coulthard driving a Mercedes 300 SLR :-)

This new-in-box AA cost me about $130 less than a newly released Tecnomodel C-type and those Tecnos don’t have this:
