For classic sports and racing cars that we regularly drool about like lightweight XKE's Cobras and Ferrari 250 SWBs....etc.....
Then I come to realize that from the numbers heing discussed and whwt zi saw in the races,a lot of modern performance street cars today can give these iconic classic sports and race cars a good run for their money if you drop these modern performance street cars in these Goodwood races! Imagine going easily as fast as these classics in the comfort of a modern car's cabin and amenities!
Heck, even my 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF GT-S would do most likely OK in some of these Goodwood races, without the fear of breaking down like the typical classics. It might not win but I think it won't be horribly embarrassed, especially if a very good driver, drives the car. It's quite a fascinating reality check!
Can you imagine racing you modern performance street cars in 50's and 60's races like the Montecarlo Rally or even the Mille Miglia! You moght actually do really well in your class for the car! I already discussed this topic quite a bit at the Miata forums and most seem to agree!
