#446961 Marketing + Listing+ Random Rant

I've found in the past I need to market AND list. Not just post and hope.

For example, with Legacy (and agree that's not a venue for race models generally but for classic American models) I need to list on the Auction AND call attention to it on the Forum a few times (Listed today...Only a day left...Expiring today...etc.) AND on other Forums, places.

The good news with Legacy is it doesn't cost anything to list (you do pay if you sell) and the Seller/Buyer can reference the review if it exists. Once you have a link, you can market the listing anywhere. Legacy will also actively mediate any contentious situation with a real person FWIW.

I use ebay's completed listings to set my price at about 10-20% under the last SOLD price and - if a Classified type listing - add OBO. That's how I try to ensure my price is competitive. If I can't find a sold price, it means there is either no market for it so my price might need to be really sharp or the market is so specialized that there are just not enough buyers at any given moment (Australian V-8 Supercars in North America). More unlikely but possible: it's incredibly rare.

Regarding the models you listed I like the yellow Ferrari, but remember when it was clearance everywhere for under $75 or so earlier in the century. Your price isn't bad, just can't reconcile it in my head given that I passed on it years ago - guess I'm becoming something of an old man with a reduced focus for collecting and little space...if something comes in, something's gotta go...
