FWIW, these appear to be today's version of wires....photoetched spokes sandwiched between two machined rims.
I understand the need to cut costs, but I still yearn for the wires done about 30 years ago.....real round wire spokes...not the flatphotoetch stuff. I still have a set of those 'real wires' in 1/43rd scale no less
