#444942 Frank, I have been on the fence for awhile about buying one

of these, and finally decided not to. As you may remember, I am a huge GT40 fan, and have many GT40 models in all scales, and will be producing my own Ltd. edition in the future. That said, as you know, this model doesn't accurately replicate any of the original Mk I road cars. GT Spirit went with a European owned, restored and modified one to use for their model reference. I don't like what they did, and I don't want to add another personal re-do project to my existing pile. If I wanted to re-work it as you might then sure, I would buy one, but only if thinking of it as a sort of pre-assembled kit to be taken apart, repainted, modified and rebuilt,

Time will tell if they release any other versions, and based on what they typically do, accept for Porsche models, they generally do not ever produce race versions, especially historic cars. They most often make color variations. I expect that if this one sells well enough for them, they might make another color variant, and maybe change the wheels....or not. So I would wait a little awhile to see if they do release any other variants.

You'll have a great amount of work to do if you decide to make it into either or both the '65 Sebring & Daytona cars. The rear body as well as front has to be modified, along with countless details. That is a BIG project. If you decide to go ahead..... and maybe make one or two 'extras'..... I'd be interested in one! :-)
