#444166 SCCA Trans Am models, etc.
Posted by Mike K. on Friday Nov 25, 2016 at 11:11AM in response to #444152
Greetings,

Apparently some Hwy. 61-based 'Cudas and Challengers are on the way from ACME from rough reports heard via Jim @ Supercar Collectibles early last year. A Dan Gurney race AAR 'Cuda is the first of these and is expected come spring and shows up in a print advertisement in one of the diecast magazines most of us consume. It is my understanding that there has been tension concerning just how much new will be tooled for the Hwy. 61-based releases given ACME doesn't want to retail what results from their efforts for more than $169.95 or thereabouts. We'll see then...

Moving along,Greenlight will be doing yet another tribute car, this time a corporate blue '68 Shelby Racing Co. Trans Am notchback with white C-stripes. Some new bits have been tooled, but most of it looks rather junky but for the paint which appears nice. Expect no flarework. Other models coming along with be ACME's 'first Z/28' as well as a redo of the Welly '69 BOSS 302 mold as the Smokey Yunick entry that never saw SCCA Trans Am action.

No Javelins but old slotcars and Jo-Han plastic kits to report, whereas Jerry's Pontiac Trans Am days are also badly neglected in scale. In time firms such as TSM might be tempted to do sealed resin renditions based upon interest registered in relation to 1:43 offerings similarly themed. Again, we'll see. Kind regards and much more to come should you wish to communicate.
