I contacted Gayle at BRE asking if there was an update regarding the shipping delay of the number 46 BRE 510 model. It sounds like she's understandably frustrated but what can she do? Here's her reply. By the way, they did get one number 85 car air mail direct from the factory and she says it LOOKS awesome:

"I've been talking to the model company every day
trying to get a more detailed update so we could send out another status
mail to customers. Every day they think they'll have more info the next
day. Here's what we know:
- The #85 BRE 510 models are at the harbor waiting to be unloaded. We've
been told this is to happen next week. We will receive the models a few days
after the model company receives them. Best guess is we'll be shipping them
the week of 4/20.
- The #46 BRE 510 (the car you ordered) is in production right now in China.
The most information we have (from the person that visited the factory in
China two weeks ago) is that they will be done "soon". When they are done
they will go on a boat and arrive in SoCal in about 4 weeks later. Then
another week to be unloaded (if the backlog at the ports has been cleared by
then). My best guess is we'll be shipping these out the middle to late May.
