I'm asking because it certainly worked very well for me, every time I buy a model from a local dealer, as I always request for them to open up the box (If there are no clear windows on it) so I can inspect the model before paying for it at their counter. I still remember when I ordered/bought my Exoto Chaparral 2 from a local hobby shop and did such and we discovered that the perspex windshield and side windows had fallen off the model during shipment. The dealer took the model back with no hesitation and ordered me another one, which fortunately survived shipment much better than the first one. Even though you might not have done the same due diligence, an opportunity to meet with the local dealer to discuss this will most likely yield best results, instead of going it alone with the manufacturer.
