Rochester - I do want them to succeed. Sincerely I do. But in counterpoint to your comment here are some things to consider.

1) The Ciel was a 2011 concept. So, 4 years ago and 5 years before the CT6 goes on sale
2) The Elmiraj was a 2013 concept. So, 2 years ago and 3 years before the CT6 goes on sale. And the Elmiraj was an evolution of the design themes seen 2 years earlier in the Ciel.
3) The "Arts & Sciences" design language debuted 14 years ago in 2001 on the 2002 model year CTS. This of course means it was in process of being created and engineered even before the turn of the century.
4) By 2005, 10 years ago, all Cadillac models had been updated to reflect "Arts & Sciences". Cadillac has then been evolving the language for the past decade.

GM has been in the processing of rebuilding Cadillac for 15 years. In many ways they now have great cars that really do compete with luxury imports, especially from a tech and engineering standpoint. Unfortunately the evolved A&S design language seems to be falling flat with buyers as both the ATS and CTS are not selling well. With the Ciel/Elmiraj they showed truly stunning potential revolutions of the A&S language. Had they brought a version to market (that of course met all needed safety standards) they would have had a real chance to truly make a bold statement that lived up to "dare greatly". Natural progressions of the current line don't dare greatly. Radical design revolution does.
