The "Father of the Datsun 240Z" passed away last Thursday.
I purchased a Datsun 240Z in 1971 when I returned from a tour in SE Asia and had it until it was stolen in 1995. The Z was an amazing car that interested a lot of people in sporty cars and was a precursor to all of the other Datsun and Nissan Z's and ZX's.
Mr. K was pivotal in getting Japan to build this car that proved to people in the US that Japan could build beautifully styled and engineered cars that looked so good on the streets of North America.
