but I have to disagree with you on the livery issue.

The average collector will not be that interested in this car when they can buy the XK-E street versions instead. Also, as opposed to say the ubiquitous Ferrari collectors, I don't think that there are that many collectors who specialize in Jaguars and also want just 'clean' models and would refuse to buy this one if it had four roundels on it.

I'm convinced that the un-liveried race models are just a calculated move to get the most money for the least production cost and to also increase the likelihood that the collector will buy more than one of the model. Exoto made this kind of merchandising into an art form. Manufacturers know that race car guys will buy the clean cars and put on the livery themselves if they have to. Conversely, I think that the number of collectors who would refuse to buy a model of the 'lightweight' because it carried livery is very, very small.
