think the average collector wouldn't. Best thing would be to do both. For this car, it has such great lines that it would look amazing without livery.
I'd love for someone to do a lightweight roadster. It has this rear vent on the roof with about twenty little holes in a row. That makes it something I would not even try to do as a mod, but a manufacturer could easily do. Love to have a Gurney version of that Coombs car.
One of the things you rarely see done correctly is the hood strap because there aren't many good detail photos from the time. Here's a good photo:
