#433814 the old and the new
Posted by Frank Lemire on Tuesday Nov 18, 2014 at 06:49AM
When I first started collecting diecast in 2003, the Autoart D Type Jaguar was already 'sold out' and only available on the secondary market. At that time I was focused on getting my Cobra collection together and by the time I circled back to pick up a 'short nose' they were few and far between and selling at over their retail price. I decided to wait for them to reissue. That turned out to be a long wait.

What finally did come down the road was the Exoto model of the car and Autoart's 'long nose' version. Both models were better detailed than the old car - in Exoto's case much better detailed - but their cost suddenly made the old cars look like a better deal than they did a decade before.

They ain't Exoto, but you have to like the look of these Autoart D Type Jaguars and thanks to Exoto they seem reasonably priced....LOL
