#433441 I don't think the Exoto 917/30 was over-hyped....

....when they first issued the model, as it was Exoto's first double car set when they first issued it and the double car sales format was something new in the diecast collecting world, plus it was one of Mark Donohue's most successful ride that easily trounced every team and racer in the Can Am series back then, including the other Porsches racing against it. The car was also so very overwhelmingly powerful (over 1000HP max) compared to all the other racers and the power was perfectly matched to the extended chassis, which together is always a very hard thing to achieve. So any "hype" showered on the model back then was I think, well deserved just on those points. If any of the 917/30s issued by Exoto do not deserve praise, it was the following world closed course record car version that had many detail errors and omissions on it. Now that one would have really disappointed me if I bought it.....
