as raced at Frankreich 1954. Note, the two engine shot shows Fangio's engine on the left and Herrmann's engine on the right. The hood bump on Herrmann's car is explained in the right side of the engine.. You can see the difference.

Body does not appear to be removable from chassis. I tried. There is no screwdriver or instructions for removal of the body like the original version.. This was VERY surprising because I expected to be able to remove the body like the first version. However, there is an exhaust pip in the upper vent instead of two in the bottom vent. There is a new opening in the upper right part of the hood. Neither the upper pipe or the pipe in the opening blocked removal but something else in the front end does. I still don't know what it is. Regardless, it's not meant to be removed, which is a bit of a downer. Note also the the front grill is recessed compared to the original versions which could be adjusted by a lever in the cockpit. CMC touted this new arrival as being new and improved in detail, air ducts and new louvres.. I did have to repair some glue spots inside the Fangio cockpit.. which the Herrmann version did not have.

The goggles and helmet are mine that I customized. I scratch built the real leather straps and helmet liner. Not easy.. but the leather is very easy to cut. I did paint the helmet again and I also painted the helmet liner then added some Tamiya smoke to make it dirty.
