#430095 Resin Minilites on my #77 Autodynamics Challenger less tires
Posted by Mike K. on Monday Apr 21, 2014 at 02:25PM in response to #430090
...this image taken last Friday at a regional club meeting. Using the new tires requires that I open up the rear wheelhousings right back to the rear subframe rails much like the actual racers; i.e. labor-intensive work is required to employ the same irrespective of fact that I'd just like to swap them in without further ado. As for the club meeting, happily the diecast stigma (...oh, those guys just purchase stuff off the shelf!) seems to be dissipating as people recognize that a great deal of effort is represented here. Funny how the rear spoiler vanishes from view given the darkly attired fellow grasping for his coffee situated just behind it.

Notice the margarita mix cap reemployed as a stamped steel standard air cleaner base complete with notch on base as per period photographs. I cut the cap on the bottle itself, then applied a length of tiny plastic half round stock in an attempt to reproduce the top lip of the stamping. And so it's coming along, a #76 Challenger is further being done (I didn't want to lug two examples to the meeting), whereas all the resin spares that can be copied and pumped out to supply a pair of Hwy. 61-based AAR 'Cudas. These latter two might not be seen for years, but I so want to avoid having to create matters from scratch anew given AAR fabbed all the cars. Kind thanks...
