why else could they charge more and yet be able to sell the fantasy cars over the real ones.

The truth is this is no different than making 'Batmobiles' or the 'General Lee'. You pull in another whole pool of customers from a completely different collection group.

Face it, if your only connection to a car was through the video game wouldn't you rather have the car on the right?
