The last hours in the GT2 class at the 24 hours of Le Mans were quite exciting. The Seikel Motorsport Porsche had a comfortable lead, but around one hour before race end, Dominik Farnbacher broke the gear stick and the six laps lead shrunk more and more. Finally the car made it into the pits and the problem was quickly fixed. However the team had lost the lead to the, until then second placed, team LNT Panoz and was not able to keep up the with the lap times of the Panoz. As a result the team LNT was able to secure the victory in the final laps. At the end the lead was even more than one lap, because the Seikel Porsche additionally crashed into one of the track barriers. Third in the GT2 class finished the Ferrari 430 GT of the team Scuderia Ecosse.
